firm "Restaurierungen Friedrich" founded in 1956 by the qualified joiner
Walter Friedrich, soon gained the reputation only to carry out careful
and professional restoration. Klaus Friedrich, son of Walter Friedrich,
began his training as a restorer in 1985 and took over the management
of the business in 1999. Father and son assisted by two qualified craftsmen
now offer to the trade as well as to private customers highly professional
restoration of furniture and wooden objects from all periods. The competent
service includes all aspects of work related to restoration keeping up-to-date
with the latest developments in conservation:
In the restoration of surfaces we use only pure shellac as a primer and to build up the finish. No synthetic primers are used. The conservation of the natural patina of an object is of equal importance to us. In the Friedrich workshop it would be unthinkable to use coarse abrasive methods on an old veneered surface or on solid wood.
